The DJ/MC duo met in early 2017 and wasted no time getting to work. DJ Flow is an active DJ with a foundation in traditional B-Boy roots, deep in the crates and heavy on the breaks. Mani as an MC has the voice and abilities of the golden era titans, but is equally versed and aware of the newer styles that contribute to the art form.

From having a mutual respect for each others crafts, Flow and Mani set out on tour only 2 months after meeting one another. While touring the Midwestern cities of America and parts of Europe, the duo continued to work on music. As true students to the culture, digging in the crates is and will always be a part of their process. In every city the group carved out time to stop at every record store, thrift store, book store etc. to unearth as many rare and unknown grooves as they can find. Through this collection, RAWK! was born.

Sample chops and drum breaks are the foundation for the project, taking a traditional approach while still applying modern influences and techniques to both the production and lyrics. Overall the group's purpose is to share their story and experience, coming from the bay area and following the rich traditions of the region. Raw beats, raw lyrics, raw hustle and raw funk. RAWK!
